I've painted most of the detail parts of the engine and started doing some detailing with fine wire to represent hoses, wires, etc.

These small pieces are easier to paint still on the sprue.

Detail of the one piece molded accessory belt and pulleys. A little detailing makes all the difference here.

This is supposed to sit flat on top of the block. A lot of the chrome pieces have these bizarre molding legs that need to be cut/filed off. Fortunately the flaws that are left behind will be hidden when glued onto the engine.

Close-up of the blower test fitted to engine. This whole assembly will need a wash with thinned black paint to bring out the details and make it look more realistic. It's just a shiny silver mass right now.

The engine detail parts before gluing. I'll black wash most of these parts separately before gluing them on.

A thin wire glued into the starter, with a dab of copper paint to represent the bare wire. Paper clip on the right for scale.

Next: I try black washing the engine!
