Build of Testors Lincoln Mint 1932 Ford Roadster, kit no. 7121

I'm starting to detail the engine. Here's the first pass on the transmission. The paint is Testors flat Aluminum. The color is not quite right, it looks too much like silver paint and doesnt't have the dark hue that aluminum does. But it's close enough for this project. I painted with a brush and the first coat is pretty rough, it will need a second for sure. Again, molding the engine and transmission together makes painting much more difficult.

    Here's my first shot at painting the engine block. I thought red would be a nice contrast with the blue body of the car. This is one of the reasons why I hate gloss paint, the engine looks horribly out of scale. And the paint was old and it didn't cover very well. I tried.
