I'm going to customize the engine a bit, so I used a razor saw and cut off the odd coolant neck and drilled a hole instead. I'll put a piece of heavy gauge wire there to simulate a coolant hose. Then it's off to my Sam Adams spray booth for a coat of Testors flat black.

The neck cut off and the hole drilled. That's the wire I'll used for the coolant hose. |

My beer box spray booth, in the backyard. I'm using a can of Testors flat black spray paint for the first coat. |

The first coat of flat black. I'll paint the transmission housing flat aluminum and the block flat red. It will be more difficult because the pieces are molded together. I like flat paints because glossy paints always look out of scale. |
